Tom Fitzgerald, Founder

Tom Fitzgerald is one of the pioneers of the third-party meeting planning industry. In 1979, he started Conference Hotels of New England one of the first independent hotel representative companies. As the company’s clientele and hotel affiliations expanded throughout North America and the Caribbean, he changed the name of the company to Conference Hotels Unlimited.

Tom developed his hotel industry expertise as sales manager and director of sales and marketing for two well-known Cape Cod resorts. Prior to that, he worked at the Harvard Club in Boston, where he gained extensive knowledge in catering sales and event management.

Tom was one of the original members of the New England chapter of Meeting Professionals International and is a member (and twice past president) of the Hull Lions Club.

Tom graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1974 with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Travel Administration. He lives in Hull, Massachusetts and is the father of two sons, who are both graduates of the Hospitality School at Johnson & Wales in Providence, RI. Tom, Jr. is a National Sales Manager for the La Playa Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, FL and Nevin just completed his fourth season at Stratton Mountain, VT managing an upscale ski shop.
